June 21st, 2012Join Me in Virginiaby Joseph Pearce

I'm guessing that this will be my last post to the Ink Desk until Monday because I'm leaving tomorrow morning for the Immaculate Heart of Mary National Homeschool and Parent Conference at the Fredericksburg Expo Center in Virginia.

I'm due to give two talks. The first, scheduled for 4pm tomorrow, is entitled "Reading Beyond the Lines: How to See the Truth in Great Literature"; the second, scheduled for 9:30am on Saturday, is entitled "Leaving the Nest: From Home to Home-Run". Other speakers include my good friend Dale Ahlquist, President of the American Chesterton Society. If you live in the Virginia or DC area I hope you might consider joining me at the conference. For more details, go to www.IHMConference.org.

    Dear Dr. Pearce,
I loved your EWTN series on Shakespeare, and read The Quest for Shakespeare also. In the EWTN series on Sir Thomas More, there was mention of a late play by Shakespeare on Henry VIII. I don't remember that play and at first assumed he could not have written on that subject, but apparently he did (or else Fletcher did). I haven't read the play. Would it have been possible for him to write critically of Henry VIII? Maybe I should read the play. Thanks for your time.
    Sincerely,
    Rhonda Keith Stephens
